Covenant Cooks endeavors to encourage frugal and healthy food choices, build skills and confidence, and serve our community through fun cooking classes at no charge.

Covenant Cooks will be holding two classes for the delightful students from Piner ACES this spring. ACES stands for "After School Centers for Education in Sherman" and is funded by a grant received by the school district.

On the second Monday in May we will hold a session for the students from our own Peggy Kemp's class. These girls will not only prepare and take home food for their families, but they will also enjoy lunch with us in Wharton Fellowship Hall.

Donate Items Needed: 2 cup plastic jars with tight fitting lids (mayonnaise type jars), 8 ounce containers with tight fitting lids (butter tubs, cream cheese type plastic containers), brown grocery bags with handles, 15 ounce cans black beans, whole kernal corn, petite diced tomatoes, mandarin orange wedges. Please bring items to the church kitchen. Please thoroughly clean jars and tubs.

Volunteer: Grocery shop, set up kitchen for class, teach, help clean up. Contact the church office at 903-892-1502 to volunteer.
