Mostly because of the work involving the Joy Class, Covenant Presbyterian Church is designated a Shepherd Church with Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries. 

THE JOY CLASS
Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. Psalms 128:1

The Joy Class is a class for adults with developmental disabilities and features a specially designed curriculum which emphasizes spiritual development, successful relationships, church responsibility, and most of all God’s love. This Sunday School class meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. before worship and welcomes adults with varying degrees of developmental disabilities and their friends. Class members are encouraged to attend Worship Service following the class. Coordinator for the class, Doris C. Clark, can be reached at (903) 564-6904 to answer any questions you may have.

 

The Least of These

 

                                    Look at their faces as they come to us,

                                    Some shy, some frightened, some happy,

                                                We are so noble to be here for them—

                                    We teach, we give hugs, we serve coffee.

 

                                    Who could have told us the truth we would learn

                                    As we ministered to their needs?

                                    The gifts that they gave us were straight from God’s throne.

                                    We were really the ones who had needs.

           

                                    “Inasmuch as you’ve done it to the least of these.”

                                    This is what Jesus has said.

                                    And we think that the blessings belong to our students.

                                    “The least of these” are those they have fed!
