Youth Ministry

The call to teach and support youth is important to the life of the church. Interesting instructional programming is imporant to the emotional and spiritual growth of our young people.

Junior High Youth (6th - 8th grades) and Senior High Youth (9th - 12th grades) groups meet on Sunday afternoon or evenings for activities, discussions, service projects, fellowship, and just "hanging-out."

See to the right for upcoming activities. Covenant Presbyterian joins with other churches for special programs, retreats, camps and conferences throughout the year.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
9:30 - 10:40AM
Sunday Mornings

Jr. High:  Our Junior High class serves as a 3 year confirmation class.  Each year there is a different focus on the curriculum—Old Testament, New Testament, Professing our Faith.  During 2011-2012 the emphasis is on Professing our Faith as students learn about worship, seasons of the church year, church history and polity, etc.

Senior High:  Our Senior High class focus is understanding scripture and faith better so we can live it out in our daily lives.  Every 4-6 weeks we take on a new topic and study scripture and discuss the tough faith questions pertaining to the topic. Twice during the year this class will prepare and teach the elementary school class.

W.O.W
What's on Wednesdays
3:15 - 6:30PM
Spring: March 2 - April 13, 2011 (except March 16)

W.O.W. is our mid-week program for Youth and Children K -12th grade. We hold two 8-9 week sessions. One in the spring and one in the fall. The youth portion of the program includes: afterschool snack and time to hang out and visit, time to do homework and get homework help. A short weekly service project where you do something to help out the church or the community. We serve dinner and then have a short worship service, and end with bible study. Every other week the youth help lead the worship service. This ministry is led by our church members as well as Austin College volunteers who may come from a variety of church backgrounds. The youth have continual supervision for the duration of the program.
